In between I went to a nursary school occasionally for socialisation and I did Grade 1 at a private school.
Two years ago we moved from a country in the Southern Hemisphere to a country in the Northern Hemisphere and my parents gave me the option to try out the schooling system here.
I went to a lovely small school on the one side of the island that we live on and it was a wonderful little school.
Then we had to move as we only had a short lease and the only other house that was available was too far away to attend that school.
Then I went to a school that was a big school. The kids are all bullies and the teaching is very poor. There are a lot of problems in the school and it makes me very unhappy.
I was recently ill for a while and while I was at home my mom was teaching me a bit and it was great. I learnt so many things and I realised how badly the kids in school get taught and how much you miss out on.
The days are really long (9-3pm) and the majority of time the kids just get worksheets and dont get taught at all. The teacher has a phone in the class and it rings all the time. A lot of days the teacher is not even there and we get babysat but the supply teacher cant teach us. Its really poor education and wastes kids time.
I have been doing a lot of projects on my laptop whilst I was at home on anything I felt like learning about - thats called unschooling and I publish them on a website called Scribd.com.
Its so fun and you learn so much when you are interesed in something.
I am going to school some days as I am now out of hospital and on medication but it makes me drowsy. I find the days I am forced to go to school are just so boring and we dont get taught.
We are looking at flexi schooling and see if the school and education authority will agree to that. The benefits of flexi schooling is you can use what you need from the school. For maths and English and other subjects its way better for me to learn at home as my education at home is really enjoyable and far superior to the school where the kids are struggling and bored.
But some things like swimming, PE, music and concerts or activities like workshop can be good at school. At the moment the kids are not bullying me as they got spoken to so I hope that lasts a while. They can be so bad with their bullying.
If the school wont agree to flexi schooling we are seriously thinking about home schooling again.
In the meantime I am going to publish the things I learn at home and the benefits of what I do at home with my own learning.
I love being home schooled. Its really interesting and I will share some info about it with you.
