I recently went to a weeks summer music tuition.
They taught us a couple of tunes for beginners and taught us without sheet music for penny whistle and keyboard.
For penny whistle we learnt "Pegs Polka" and "On the Britches".
If you want to try it out - here is what they gave us to learn:
PEGS POLKA

4212 4212 6 (Long) 5 45 (Quick) 6 6
Repeat

424 55612 6 (Long) 54(Quick) 566
Repeat
OH THE BRITCHES

This is a useful diagram I found on the internet for the fingering pattern. This shows the finger positions and what letters they relate to for sheet music.

I hope to have a look at this and learn if I have a chance, although I am always very busy without a moment to spare.
I have enjoyed practising the little tunes we learnt at the music camp.
This is a beautiful tune that is played on the tin whistle but I have not been able to find the tin whistle fingering for it anywhere yet

The tune we learnt for Keyboard was:

This is a cool site for new tin whistle players but they did not show us the sheet music and notes so I can play using the tutor's system. http://tinwhistle.wordpress.com/
